Alex Portillo is a pastor, writer, and the creator behind SanBerto, where he helps Christians read the Bible with new eyes and explores Scripture, the inner life, and the quiet ways God forms us. He hosts The Bertonians, a weekly podcast of sermons, teachings, and conversations, teaches on YouTube, and writes a newsletter on Scripture and the spiritual life. His first book is forthcoming from Zondervan in spring 2027.
Originally from Washington, DC, he pastors in Vancouver, Washington, holds an MDiv from Andrews University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation at George Fox University. He lives with his wife Chelsea and their two sons.
